What SHOULD I expect?
An aquatic therapy session focuses on building comfort and confidence in the water while helping individuals learn and improve basic swimming and water safety skills. In a low-impact environment, participants practice movement and coordination, increase strength through gentle water-based activities, and improve balance and body awareness with the natural support of the water. Sessions also work to enhance endurance through engaging exercises, promote independence and functional movement skills, and include structured games and recreational activities to keep the experience both effective and enjoyable.
What should I wear?
Women: Swimsuit, shorts with a tank top or sports bra
Men: Swim trunks, jammers, or shorts
If you have please bring: Goggles, rash guard, swim cap, ear plugs
WATER SHOES ARE MANDATORY!
Do I need a referral from a doctor?
Yes, you need to have a referral from a doctor that states you are cleared to do aquatic therapy.
How long is a session?
One session is 1 hour long.
